Donna’s Daily Deats - I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson

Donna’s Daily Deats

I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson

I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson is a novel that will leave you stupefied. I would recommend this book to readers over the age of 12. This book tackles some difficult things people go through in life, such as having a loved one pass away, betrayal, finding yourself, etc.

The intricate plot and the small details grasp your attention and leave you longing for more. The extremely different and interesting characters leave you wanting to know more about each person and they all play a very important role in this story. The style of writing takes you back to the past and into the future and you always find yourself wondering how something came to be or how something is going to turn out.

The plot of this book is extremely interesting, yet confusing at times. The story leaves you wondering how things relate, but in the end it all comes together and it will leave you breathless. The alluring emotive language and words used add to this electrifying story allow you to see the story vividly. The first chapter introduces the characters beautifully and the last chapter leaves the reader satisfied, yet wanting more!

The themes of this book include betrayal, family, love and redemption. These all play a huge role in this story and they add to how relationships between characters and the characters themselves grow. Each character plays an important role in another characters life, whether it’s good or bad.
The main characters are relatable and they show you how love can change your life. It shows the reader how you never realise the full story of someone’s life unless you ask or really get to know them.
